Residents as Teachers

Residents at the University of Kansas School of Medicine serve as important teachers for their peers and medical students. This web page is intended to serve as an online resource for resident teachers to improve their teaching skills.

At the University of Kansas School of Medicine, the GME Office provides a "Residents as Teachers" workshop and a Clinical Teaching Skills module on Chalk covering a wide range of clinical teaching skills and emphasizing techniques that enable residents to integrate their teaching duties into daily patient care activities. Completion of the "Residents as Teachers" workshop and the Clinical Teaching Skills module will improve residents' self-discipline, sense of professionalism, clinical learning, organizational skills, and teaching abilities.
